Nagaland governor La Ganesan died at a private hospital in Chennai on Friday at the age of 80. According to Raj Bhavan officials, he had been receiving treatment in the ICU for several days before his passing. Ganesan was admitted after collapsing at his residence in Chennai on August 8.

Ganesan’s public service career spanned decades. He served as the governor of Manipur in 2021 before being appointed to Nagaland in February 2023. Earlier, he was a Rajya Sabha member representing Madhya Pradesh for a brief term. Known for his simplicity and dedication, he was respected both as a politician and as a leader committed to people’s welfare.
